Our areas of expertise include matters arising in the areas of water quality and watershed protection, mineral extraction, energy, solid and hazardous waste, wildlife protection, and large-scale water projects. We also have crafted numerous local regulations for environmental protection. Through this work, our attorneys have gained deep experience interpreting and applying the Clean Water Act; Safe Drinking Water Act; the National Environmental Policy Act; the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act; the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act; Federal Land Planning and Management Act; federal mining laws; and corresponding agency regulations. We also are well-versed in state and local environmental and natural resource laws and regulations in the Rocky Mountain West.

Permitting & Compliance. The firm represents clients seeking permits and approvals under environmental laws and regulations. Should compliance issues arise, we are there to assist clients to resolve violations and defend against enforcement proceedings.

• Regulatory & Administrative Proceedings. We regularly represent client interests before administrative bodies in Colorado, such as the Water Quality Control Commission, the Mined Land Reclamation Board, and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
